Update to our customers about COVID-19

We will be reopening our lobbies on Monday, June 29th. However, we are recommending the continued use of our drive-ups, and other available service options: ATM, night deposits, mobile, online and telephone banking, which remain to be an option for teller transactions.

For services that require access to the lobby, we recommend making appointments to ensure social distancing. In the lobby, you’ll find social distancing signs, floor markers and hand sanitizer. Our staff will be working behind plexiglass shields with some wearing masks. For security purposes, we require that masks are removed at the teller counter and we may request that you remove your mask briefly in other areas of the bank for identification .

All of our workstations and all high traffic areas will be cleaned and disinfected at regular intervals throughout the day. We have protective gear, social distancing practices and customer health guidelines in place.

For everyone's safety, we ask that you follow recommendations from the CDC and our local and federal government which include:

  • Stay home if you feel sick or are showing any signs of illness.
  • Practice social distancing.
  • Limit the time of visits.
  • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently. 

Note: We will continuously monitor the lobbies for overcrowding. If social distancing guidelines cannot be met, you may be asked to wait outside or make an appointment.

We are taking things one day at a time because everyone’s safety comes first. North Star Bank will follow the guidelines mandated by the state of Minnesota and local governments. We will remain agile and prepared to immediately implement any state or county directives and continue to update the website as changes occur. To Our Valued Customers and the Communities We Serve,

As the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, our team is ready and standing by to support you. You rely on us everyday for your financial needs, and we’re going to continue to provide reliable access to the important services you count on. We want to do our part in limiting the spread to our employees, customers, and community. We are closely monitoring reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and continually evaluating precautionary measures for the health and safety of our customers and employees.

We have taken the following steps to help mitigate risks of COVID-19:

Customer Focus. While we pride ourselves on providing personal, face-to-face customer service, we hope you understand during these uncertain times the need to limit branch visits as coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an increased impact on our communities. Therefore we are temporarily suspending lobby access to all of our branches beginning Thursday, March 19th, 2020.  For those needing in-person bank services, we encourage use of our drive-thru lanes when possible. If you have an immediate need to access your Safe Deposit Box or meet with a banker, please call the respective branch location to set up an appointment:

Branch Safety. In addition to our regular custodial services, North Star Bank employees are actively cleaning and disinfecting common-use surfaces such as counters, door handles, desks, phones, ATMs, and coin counting machines to help ensure the health of our customers and staff.  

Staff Safety. We are committed to the safety of our employees and are requiring team members to remain at home with any signs of illness.  Staff is also encouraged to limit non-essential business visits and in-person group meetings as much as possible, and is reminded of the importance of cleaning office areas and regular hand sanitization.  In the event of a staff shortage, we ask for your patience as we evaluate staffing needs and branch services to best support your financial needs.

Our priority is doing what we can to minimize potential spread of the coronavirus.  We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates should further developments warrant changes that could impact your level of financial services.

What you can do. Be aware of potential scams. Cyber-criminals and scammers are always looking for the latest crisis to take advantage of, and this is no exception.
